Omegon Pro H-alpha Filter 2″ is a high-precision narrow-band filter that passes only the light from ionized hydrogen (H-alpha) - peaking around 656.3 nanometers. This specific wavelength is responsible for the characteristic red light in emission nebulae and is the basis for much deep-sky astrophotography.

This 2″ filter is optimized for use with monochrome astro cameras or color cameras with narrowband sensitivity. Its extremely narrow transmission band (typically 7 nm or less) blocks virtually all light pollution. This allows you to take detailed shots of complex nebular structures such as the Rosette Nebula, the Horsehead Nebula or the North America Nebula even from the city.

High transmission within the H-alpha range ensures maximum signal output, while effectively suppressing all other wavelengths - including moonlight and city lights. The robust 2″ aluminum mount makes this filter suitable for larger image sensors, filter wheels and photographic optical paths.
