Omegon Pro H-Alpha Filter 2 inch: H-alpha for large sensors

This narrowband filter allows only light from ionized hydrogen to pass through, with a peak around 656.3 nanometers. That wavelength is responsible for the characteristic red light in emission nebulae and forms the basis of much deep-sky astrophotography.

For monochrome and narrowband sensitive cameras

The 2-inch version is optimized for monochrome astro cameras and color cameras with narrowband sensitivity. The generous barrel makes the filter suitable for large image sensors and photographic light paths.

Photography Despite Light Pollution

The very narrow transmission band, typically 7 nanometers or less, blocks almost all light pollution. This allows you to take detailed images of complex nebulae structures, such as the Rosette Nebula, the Horsehead Nebula, and the North America Nebula, even from within the city.

Maintain signal

Within the passband, transmission is high, so that as much scattered light as possible remains. Outside that band, moonlight and artificial light are strongly suppressed.

Ideal in combination with OIII and SII filters for SHO shots with a monochrome camera. The 2-inch size fits in most 2-inch filter wheels.
