This is no ordinary binoculars, and we hasten to point out that. The 2.1×42 is a star field viewer: it magnifies barely (2.1x) but shows a huge field of view in which entire constellations fit, with hundreds of stars more than the naked eye can see. The Milky Way becomes a river of light.
Honest advice: this instrument only comes into its own under reasonably dark skies. In the middle of the city, it adds little. And anyone expecting to ‘get closer’ is better off with a classic binoculars.
Why we feed it: there is no other instrument that does this, and for Milky Way walks and meteor swarms it is unrivaled. For whom: observers with access to dark locations (Wadden Islands, Drenthe) and lovers of the grand overview.
