With a filter wheel, you can automatically change filters without having to take the assembly apart. This is necessary when you are taking LRGB or narrow-band shots with a monochrome camera. The AFW-mini is designed for light setups: it weighs 340 g, is 20 mm thick, and has room for five 1.25-inch filters.
The wheel is mounted on a compression bearing and a ball bearing, so the filters do not wobble. The housing is light-proof, which you see reflected in the clean flats. It comes with a 1.25 inch sleeve and an adapter from M48 to M42 of 16.5 mm, as well as dust caps. The motor also works at low temperatures and has two speeds.
Who is the AFW Mini for?
Hello Anyone using a monochrome planetary camera or a camera with a sensor of about 1 inch, such as the ATR585M.
Not Anyone using an APS-C camera will notice that filters of 1.25 inches produce dark corners.
