16 inch Truss Dobson: The Deep Sky Flagship!
The Omegon ProDob 406/1850 DOB II Truss is the flagship: a 16-inch mirror that captures over 3300 times more light than the naked eye, in a demountable carbon truss construction that fits in a regular car. Spiral arms in galaxies and structure in faint nebulae become visible.

406 mm optics with fan
The 406 mm parabolic mirror with built-in fan cools quickly and then shows its full sharpness. With the SWA 32 mm eyepiece, you view at 58x with a wide field of view; practical use is up to approximately 400x, depending on the atmosphere.
Follow without jolts
The deluxe friction and bearing system moves the axes with adjustable resistance, ensuring the image remains precisely where you set it, even at high magnification. The 2-inch Crayford focuses smoothly, and the included SWA 32mm 2-inch wide-angle eyepiece immediately provides a generous overview. The Radiant finderscope with reticle circles makes star hopping to faint targets manageable; the carbon truss tube can be disassembled in minutes for transport.

Featured accessories
The Omegon laser collimator (44.90 euros) comes standard with every fast Newtonian telescope. An Omegon UWA 6 mm eyepiece (308x, 59 euros) provides high-detail magnification, and the Omegon Pro OIII 2-inch (99 euros) reveals planetary nebulae. An Omegon 13% 2-inch lunar filter (34.90 euros) dims the bright Moon, and the Omegon Pro UHC 2-inch filter (89 euros) brings out the details in nebulae.
For whom yes, for whom no
For: observers who want to look at high magnification for a long and comfortable time; this friction system is made for that. Not for: those who buy purely on price; the Advanced X-line offers the same apertures more affordably with simpler mechanics. Compare on the Dobson page via Buying guide. Meer Omegon stands on the merk page.
