TeleVue FoneMate: Smartphone Adapter: Smartphone Adapter for Digiscoping
The FoneMate clamps a smartphone precisely above the eyepiece lens, with the camera lens on the optical axis. This turns any telescope into a telephoto lens for the camera you already have with you.
The Moon is the most rewarding first target: a single photo through a medium magnification reveals craters that are unattainable with the naked eye.

This is how digiscoping works
The phone photographs through the eyepiece, showing what you see: afocal photography. You focus with the telescope, and the phone controls the exposure.
Use the self-timer or a volume button shutter to avoid vibrations, and start with the Moon before attempting planets.

Firm and repeatable clamping
The FoneMate attaches to eyepieces that accept the Dioptrx mount and clamps the phone with a wide, padded grip. Once aligned, the camera lens is right on the axis again every session.
TeleVue advises combining with eyepieces that fully illuminate the field; the overview per eyepiece model is listed in the TeleVue documentation.
Featured accessories
The FoneMate fits TeleVue eyepieces with the Dioptrx mount; check TeleVue's overview for your model. A DeLite or Delos with a long eye relief is a good starting point.
