Omegon Pro RC 355/2845 Lightweight Truss OTA: 14 inch with minimal mirror mass

The Omegon Pro RC 355/2845 Lightweight Truss tilts the RC scope to 14 inches and keeps the weight manageable: the quartz honeycomb primary mirror reaches thermal equilibrium faster and puts significantly less strain on the mount than solid glass of this size. Coma-free on large-format sensors, without a corrector.

A Ritchey-Chrétien uses two hyperbolic mirrors: the design of virtually every professional observatory. The result is a large, coma-free field of view without a corrector: stars remain round all the way to the edges of the sensor.

The open carbon truss construction is the recipe of professional observatories: rigid, light, and thermally stable, with natural ventilation that prevents its own microclimate inside the tube. The built-in 12V fan cools the primary mirror up to twice as fast, so you're working at full sharpness sooner.

The 3-inch monorail focuser of the Omegon RC 355 truss

Observatory-grade precision

The ball-bearing 3-inch monorail focuser illuminates large-format image fields without vignetting, the fan system quickly brings the large primary mirror to ambient temperature, and the precision collimation keeps both hyperbolic mirrors exactly aligned.

Three extension tubes adjust the backfocus on any camera configuration; the Losmandy dovetail belongs on an observatory mount.
