De TeleVue Ploessl 8 mm is een klassiek planeetoculair: weinig glas, hoog contrast en een scherp beeld over het volledige veld. Voor maan- en planeetwaarneming is dit ontwerp na een halve eeuw nog altijd moeilijk te verbeteren.

Houd rekening met de korte oogafstand van ongeveer 6 mm, eigen aan elk Ploessl van deze brandpuntsafstand. Wie meer ruimte wil, combineert beter een 15 of 20 mm met een barlow.

The TeleVue Ploessl design

Four lenses in two groups are all a good Ploessl needs. Because there are few glass surfaces, transmission remains high and contrast is maximized: precisely the characteristics that matter for planetary and lunar observation.

TeleVue T-type optics brought the design to the current level in the seventies, with tight manufacturing tolerances, multiple coatings, and blackened lens edges. You can see the difference compared to a standard supplied eyepiece right at the edge of the field.

Hoge vergroting of barlow-route

Een 8 mm rechtstreeks in de focuser en een 15 mm met 2x barlow leveren bijna dezelfde vergroting. De barlow-route geeft de langere oogafstand van de 15 mm cadeau.

Voor wie zonder barlow wil werken blijft de 8 mm de directe weg naar planeetdetail, met het maximale contrast van vier glasoppervlakken.

In your telescope

In een telescoop met 1200 mm brandpuntsafstand levert dit oculair ongeveer 150x met een waar beeldveld van circa 0,31 graden. Voor je eigen telescoop: waar beeldveld = 57,3 x veldstop gedeeld door de brandpuntsafstand van de telescoop.

De effectieve veldstop van dit model is circa 6,5 mm.

A TeleVue 2x or 3x Barlow lens doubles or triples the magnification of any Ploessl eyepiece without any loss of quality; two Ploessl eyepieces plus a Barlow lens thus cover four magnification levels. Models 25 mm and larger also accept the Dioptrx astigmatism corrector.
