Ultimate modular solar scope with professional H-alpha performance
The Lunt LS60MT B1200 is a modular H-alpha solar telescope designed for discerning observers who want to both view and photograph the sun at high resolution. This version with B1200 block filter gives you more field of view and flexibility for photography than the smaller B600 variant, especially for cameras with a larger sensor size.
Thanks to the 60 mm aperture with no obstruction, you take advantage of the full resolving power in H-alpha, making prominences, filaments and active regions more quietly and sharply visible than in models with central obstruction.

Professional H-alpha detail thanks to <0.7 Å bandwidth
The internal pressure-controlled etalon system delivers a bandwidth of less than 0.7 Å. This is the sweet spot for visual observation as well as photography: wide enough to show both peripheral and surface structures, narrow enough for high-contrast details.
The B1200 block filter version provides additional slack on cameras with larger sensors and offers more field of view than the B600 variant, which makes a noticeable difference especially in photography.

Dual use: from sun observation to high-performance night vision goggles
Whereas many solar telescopes are suitable exclusively for H-alpha, the LS60MT offers more flexibility. By removing the etalon module and inserting the optional night module, the telescope transforms into a 70 mm ED-apo with FPL-51 glass. This makes it suitable for sharp observations of the moon, planets, clusters and bright nebulae.
It makes the LS60MT attractive for those who want to use one optical tube for both sun and night without compromising on quality.

Robust, complete and ready for serious photography
The telescope comes with a solid transport case, tube rings, handle and extensions so you can mount directly to virtually any Vixen swallowtail. The build quality is all-metal construction, low-vibration and optimized for photography with light cameras or dedicated astro-cameras.
The precise focuser and stable construction make it easy to achieve sharp images even during longer shooting sessions of prominences or solar flares.

What we recommend (including what you can see with it)
With the Lunt LS60MT you can realistically count on:
- ✓ Clearly visible prominences along solar edge
- ✓ Filaments, spicules, plages and active regions in high acuity
- ✓ Sharp image without obstruction artifacts
- ✓ Photography with larger sensors thanks to the B1200 block filter
- ✓ Use as a nighttime ED-apo after removing the etalon (optional module)
- ✓ Suitable for both visual observers and serious solar photographers
For beginners, this is a premium entry level that feels professional right away; for advanced users, this is a compact, reliable and modularly expandable H-alpha workhorse.
