The most popular Messier optics as an optical tube!

The Bresser Messier 150/750 Hexafoc OTA is the standalone optical tube of the most popular Newtonian in the Messier lineup. If you already have an equatorial mount, this is the most cost-effective route to 150 mm parabolic optics featuring the 2.5-inch Hexafoc focuser. Via the Vixen-style dovetail, the tube clicks onto any mount with a standard Vixen clamp.

Parabolic f/5 optics

The 150 mm parabolic mirror collects about 459 times more light than the naked eye. With a 750 mm focal length (f/5), you get a wide field of view for deep-sky objects, and with the 26 mm Super Plössl eyepiece, you view at 29x; consider approximately 300x as the maximum. The Hexafoc supports heavy 2-inch eyepieces and camera equipment without sagging.

Which mount fits this?

For visual use, the Bresser EXOS-1/EQ-4 mount with tripod (379 euros) carries this optical tube just fine. If you want to do astrophotography or have more load capacity, choose the Bresser EXOS-2/EQ-5 mount on tripod (539 euros) or the Bresser EXOS-2 EQ GoTo mount (998 euros) with automatic tracking.

Included

  • Newtonian optics 150/750 with parabolic primary mirror
  • 2.5-inch Hexafoc Focuser
  • 26 mm Super Plössl eyepiece (1.25 inch)
  • 6×30 viewfinder
  • Rings with Vixen-style dovetail

Featured accessories

The Bresser Plössl 10 mm eyepiece (75x, 29 euro) and a Bresser laser collimator (74.90 euro) form the basis. An Omegon Premium 2-inch moon filter (34.90 euro) subdues the moonlight. For transport, the Armored padded transport bag 150/750 (99 euros).

For whom yes, for whom no

Pros: anyone who already has a mount and is looking for versatile deep-sky optics. Cons: anyone who does not yet own a mount; the complete 150/750 sets on EXOS are more cost-effective than buying the components separately. Compare on the reflector page. Meer Bresser is on the merk page.
