The TeleVue DIOPTRX 2.50 is an optical correction lens that compensates for astigmatism during viewing. With a correction value of 2.50 diopters (dpt) corrects your astigmatism directly on the eyepiece. This way, stars appear as sharp points again and you can observe comfortably without glasses.

With astigmatism, light is not focused into a single point, but into two different focal lines. This causes distorted star images and loss of contrast. The DIOPTRX optically corrects this defect without changing the properties or performance of the eyepiece itself.

Precise axle alignment and high-quality finish

The corrector is firmly attached to the eyepiece and remains freely rotatable. This allows you to precisely adjust the axial position to your personal cylinder orientation. Correct alignment is essential for optimal performance.

The optical surfaces are equipped with high-quality multicoating to minimize reflections and maintain light transmission. The integrated rubber eyecup Increases viewing comfort and helps block stray light.

Compatibility with TeleVue eyepieces

The DIOPTRX is exclusively designed for select TeleVue eyepieces and does not fit eyepieces from other manufacturers. Compatible eyepieces include: Plössl 50, 40, and 32mm; Radian 18, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, and 3mm; Panoptic 41, 35, 27, and 22mm (19mm and 24mm with DEA-0001 adapter); Nagler Type 4 22 and 12 mm; Nagler Type 5 31 and 26 mm (20 mm with DEA-0001 adapter); all Nagler Type 6 models with DNA-6000 adapter; Ethos 6, 8, 13, and 17 mm; and the DIOPTRX-ready versions of the Click Zoom.

This is how you choose the right strength

The DIOPTRX is available in increments of 0.25 dpt, from 0.25 to 3.50 dpt. This version corrects 2.50 diopters.

On your glasses prescription, you look at the value next to CYL (cylinder). The spherical value is not relevant here. If you no longer have your eyeglass prescription, an optician can easily measure your cylinder strength.
