The longer the plate, the further apart the tube rings can be, and the stiffer the assembly: this 335mm Vixen plate gives larger tubes the support that short plates don't offer. Furthermore, you'll have maximum sliding space left to find balance, even with a camera or heavy eyepieces on board.

The flat underside and precise shape ensure that the plate clamps into the saddle without play: the basis for a stable image, even during long exposures.
