Omegon Horizon N 114/900 EQ-1 4.5″ Newtonian Reflector: The Classic with a Parabolic Mirror
The Omegon Horizon N 114/900 EQ-1 is the modern version of the best-known beginner's telescope: 114 mm aperture and 900 mm focal length (f/7.9), but with a parabolic primary mirror and the complete Horizon package including smartphone photography. The EQ-1 Neo mount tracks stars with a control knob.
The Horizon accessory package is complete: LED Finderscope, 25mm and 10mm Plössl eyepieces, 2x Barlow lens, extension tube, smartphone adapter, and a Bluetooth remote for vibration-free photos.

Parabolic: stars like pinpricks
The parabolic primary mirror bundles light precisely to a point, whereas many classic 114/900 models use a spherical mirror. Stars remain sharp to the edge: globular clusters like M13 and the Ring Nebula show real detail.
With the Plössl eyepieces, you can observe at 36x and 90x; the 2x Barlow brings you up to 180x. Aim the EQ-1 Neo at the North Star once and then track every object with a knob, even while photographing with the included smartphone adapter.

Featured accessories
The Omegon laser collimator (€44.90) keeps the mirrors aligned; every Newtonian should have one in a drawer. An Omegon Premium 1.25-inch moon filter (€19.90) dims the bright moonlight in your photos, and the Omegon Cronus 7mm eyepiece (€79) provides a fixed 129x magnification for planets.
Never look at the sun through a telescope without a certified solar filter: this can cause permanent eye damage within a second. For the partial solar eclipse on August 12, 2026, the Bresser solar eclipse glasses (€3.20) are the safest way to watch with the naked eye.
