The brightest AstroMaster: deep sky within reach

The Celestron AstroMaster 130 EQ is the most powerful telescope in the AstroMaster line. The 130mm mirror gathers 345 times more light than the naked eye: in addition to sharp Moon and planet work, nebulae and star clusters are seriously within reach. The short focal length of 650mm (f/5) provides a wide field of view, ideal for the Orion Nebula, the Pleiades, and vast star fields.

CG-2 assembly with slow motion

After a one-time alignment, you can track each object with a single rotational movement on the flexible rod. The 20mm and 10mm eyepieces provide 33x and 65x magnification respectively; a realistic usable magnification of up to approximately 260x is achievable with an additional eyepiece or Barlow lens. The LED finder makes coarse alignment easy.

For whom yes, for whom no

For: the beginner who wants to explore both planets and the first deep-sky objects with a single purchase, on a classic equatorial mount. Not for: those who want automatic tracking; choose the EQ-MD version with a tracking motor or a computer-controlled NexStar instead.
