Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 GT SynScan GoTo: EQ6-class with a dual personality

The AZ-EQ6 GT combines the equatorial precision required for astrophotography with the speed of an alt-azimuth mount for visual work. In AZ mode, you mount two telescopes in parallel: handy for public viewing nights or to run a photo setup and a spotting scope side by side.

Dual encoders (Freedom Find) allow you to move the telescope manually without losing alignment. The belt drive keeps tracking smooth and quiet, with periodic error correction for long exposures. The redesigned polar block and slip clutches make setup stable and comfortable.

Load capacity and transport

With a 20 kg payload capacity, the AZ-EQ6 GT supports large Newtonians, apochromatic refractors, and complete astrophotography setups. The mount head weighs 15.4 kg and the stainless steel tripod weighs 7.5 kg, keeping the mount easy to lift in two parts.
