The Omegon ADC Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector corrects color shifting that occurs when you observe planets or stars low above the horizon. Without a corrector, you often see a hazy, colored disc because the Earth's atmosphere breaks up the light. With the ADC, you compensate for this effect with two adjustable prisms, giving you sharp, high-contrast images even when the planet is close to the horizon.
The ADC is easy to mount on telescopes with a 1.25” or T2 connection. Thanks to the rotating ring scale, you can quickly find the right setting for your observation and easily recover the same position at the next session. The BK-7 prisms feature a broadband anti-reflection coating and allow up to 99% of visible light to pass through, so you maintain maximum clarity.
With an adjustment range of 2.5°, the Omegon ADC not only corrects planetary observations, but can also be used for binary stars or challenging objects such as Sirius-B. Both visually and photographically, this accessory provides a significant improvement in quality.
Application
The Omegon ADC Atmospheric Dispersion Corrector is ideal for observing and photographing planets that are low on the horizon, such as Jupiter and Saturn in upcoming years. Use this corrector to remove distracting rainbow colors and make visible details that would otherwise be lost. For optimal use, a telescope with an aperture ratio less than f/10 is recommended. Faster optics may require a Barlow lens.
