Omegon Pro SII 7nm Filter 1.25″ is a professional narrow-band filter for astrophotography, designed to pass only light with a wavelength around 672 nanometers - the emission line of ionized sulfur (SII). This wavelength, along with H-alpha and OIII, forms the classic basis of the Hubble palette, which is used to image deep structures in nebulae colorfully and with scientific accuracy.
Thanks to its very narrow bandwidth of 7 nanometers, the filter is extremely effective at suppressing unwanted light, such as from the moon or artificial lighting. This results in extremely high contrast even when shooting from suburban areas. The high transmission in the SII range makes it possible to clearly capture faint sulfur emissions in, for example, the Rosette Nebula or the Lobster Nebula.
The filter is encased in a rugged 1.25″ aluminum mount, fully compatible with filter wheels and camera accessories that support this size. The optical glass features multiple anti-reflection coatings for maximum signal output and minimal stray light.
Advantages
✓ Isolates the SII spectrum (672 nm) for accurate neural recordings
✓ Only 7 nm wide - optimal contrast under any sky
✓ Indispensable in narrowband astrophotography (Hubble palette)
✓ Works with all 1.25″ filter wheels and camera adapters
✓ High transmission, low reflection - for sharp and clean image
