iOptron SkyGuider Pro Mount iPolar Set: tracking mount with electronic polar finder

The iOptron SkyGuider Pro iPolar Set combines the proven SkyGuider Pro tracking mount with the built-in iPolar electronic polar finder. This allows you to align to the celestial pole entirely on your laptop screen, without bending over or peering through an optical finder.

The mount can carry up to 5 kg (11 lbs) and tracks stars with a DC servo motor with optical encoder. This keeps stars pinpoint sharp during exposures of several minutes, even with a camera and telephoto lens or a small telescope.

With a weight of 1.45 kg including the base, the set remains light enough for any trip to a dark sky location.

Align on screen with iPolar

The iPolar camera is located in the polar axis of the mount and shows on your laptop exactly where the celestial pole is and where the mount is pointing. The free software calculates the correct position based on date and time, even if Polaris is not visible.

With the azimuth and elevation controls, you can align both points in a matter of minutes. The method works in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres and corrects for atmospheric refraction.

Four tracking speeds for each recording

Choose star speed for deep-sky photography or half star speed to keep landscapes and stars sharp simultaneously. Separate speeds are available for the sun and moon.

An ST-4 port enables autoguiding. Via the declination bracket, you can optionally mount a second camera weighing up to 3 kg instead of a counterweight.

Built-in battery for twenty hours of tracking

The lithium-polymer battery (3.7 V, 2000 mAh) lasts up to 20 hours at 20 degrees Celsius and charges via micro-USB. A power bank is sufficient for a whole weekend of photography.
