Sky-Watcher Nomad-5: five times the focal length, done telecentrically

The Nomad-5 increases your telescope's focal length by a factor of 5. Unlike a classic Barlow, it works telecentrically: the light beam leaves the extender parallel, making the magnification factor virtually independent of the distance to the camera or eyepiece and keeping the image quality constant across the field.

This makes the Nomad-5 ideally suited for high-scale planet and moon photography, where you optimally fill the small sensor of a planetary camera. A telecentric beam is also the technically correct approach for H-alpha solar observation with etalon filters.

Compatibility
