Omegon Erecting lens 1.5x 1.25 inches for reflectors corrects the image of your Newton telescope, so you no longer have to navigate upside down and mirrored. For beginners, this is a big advantage: the night sky becomes clearer and finding objects faster.
In addition to an upright image, this lens also delivers a 1.5x magnification factor. This means that your existing eyepieces will show just a little more detail without having to purchase additional eyepieces. This makes this accessory practical for night use as well as useful for daytime observations, such as of landscapes or animals.
An erecting lens is especially useful for beginning observers. Orienting via “starhopping” - moving step by step along stars to find an object - becomes easier, because you can see through the telescope the same as on a star chart. For lunar observations, the upright image is also nice: craters and valleys are easier to recognize and classify.
Important to know: this is a Basic accessory, especially suitable for Newton telescopes. The image quality is sufficient for beginning observations, but not as high quality as with an Amici prism. Therefore, for refractors or Schmidt-Cassegrains, an Amici prism is a better alternative. For Newtons that require more quality, the Omegon Deluxe reversing lens 1.25” the recommended choice.
Application
Ideal for beginners with Newton telescopes who have difficulty with orientation. Suitable for the moon, star fields and landscapes in daylight. Not intended for critical deep-sky or planetary observations where optical perfection is required.
