ZWO ASI676MC: The Square Sensor for All-Sky and Planets

The ASI676MC stands out with its square sensor: the Sony IMX676 Starvis 2 delivers 3552 x 3552 pixels, totaling 12.6 megapixels. This square format is ideal for all-sky monitoring with a fisheye lens, for meteor recording, and for mosaics, where no image direction is lost.

At the same time, this is a full-fledged planetary camera: the small 2.0-micrometer pixels already sample fine details at f/8 and slower, often making a Barlow lens unnecessary. The back-illuminated sensor is completely free of amplifier glow.

From meteors to the moon

With a fisheye or wide-angle lens, the camera records the complete sky for meteors, fireballs, and time-lapses. For continuous operation, the low readout noise of 0.56 electrons counts: clean images, night after night.
