The ZWO Counterweight Bar is designed specifically for use with the ZWO AM3 and AM5 harmonic mounts. This counterweight bar allows you to better balance the center of gravity of your setup at higher loads.
Although the AM3 and AM5 mounts can operate without a counterweight up to 8 kg and 13 kg, respectively, the use of this rod is strongly recommended when moving toward the maximum load capacity, especially with longer tubes or additional accessories such as a camera slider, filter wheel or guider.
The rod is made of stainless steel and attaches directly to the side of the mount. Then you can mount standard counterweights (with 20 mm bore) on it. This prevents unnecessary torsion on the axis and significantly increases tracking accuracy.
A must-have for astrophotographers who want to optimally balance their setup, both in mobile and fixed setups.
