Professional H-alpha telescope with maximum resolution and stability
The Lunt LS100MT ST 100/714 Ha B1200 All-round OTA is a high-end H-alpha telescope for advanced solar observers as well as observatories. Thanks to its 100 mm aperture, obstruction-free design and high-quality FPL-53 triplet optics, this instrument delivers significantly higher resolution and image stability than the LS60MT and LS80MT series.
The larger aperture translates directly to more detail: fine structures in filaments, spicule fields and active regions become visible with a purity you simply won't get from a smaller H-alpha telescope.

FPL-53 triplet: exceptional sharpness for sun and night
The LS100MT uses a real FPL-53 triplet, an optical design normally used in high-end astrographs. The glass offers very low chromatic aberration and perfectly corrected star images when you remove the H-alpha etalon and use the instrument as a night refractor.
This gives you a professional H-alpha telescope by day and a high-quality 100 mm APO at night for moon, planets and bright nebulae.

B1200 block filter: ample for visual use and photography
The B1200 version has a 12 mm opening and is suitable for:
- high-quality visual observation
- photography with medium-sized sensors
- prominence photography
- full disk recording when using appropriate cameras
Those working with very large sensors (APS-C or larger) are more likely to choose the B1800 variant, but for most H-alpha setups the B1200 is more than adequate and delivers the highest contrast.

Rack & Pinion focuser with 1:10 micro fine adjustment
A 100 mm H-alpha telescope requires a stable mechanical base. Therefore, Lunt uses a robust 2-inch R&P focuser with micro fine adjustment. This focuser is designed to carry heavy cameras and filter accessories stably without shift or tilt, which is crucial for reliable H-alpha work.
The telescope comes with tube rings, handle and a sturdy transport case, making it immediately ready for mounting on a Vixen-style dovetail.

What we recommend (including what you can see with it)
With the Lunt LS100MT Ha B1200 you can count on:
- ✓ Visibly higher resolution than the 60 mm and 80 mm models
- ✓ very fine filament structures, three-dimensional prominences and active regions
- ✓ stable and high-contrast image in photography
- ✓ perfect use as a 100 mm APO for night use (after removing the etalon)
- ✓ suitable for advanced photographers and semi-professional observers
Those who primarily shoot with large sensors may consider the B1800 variant. For visual use and many photography setups, the B1200 is the optimal balance of contrast and field of view.
