Omegon Clear Sky Light Pollution Filter 1.25″ is specially designed for observations in urban or suburban areas. Under such light-polluted skies, you often see a gray glow instead of a deep black background. This filter blocks specific interfering wavelengths from artificial light (such as sodium and mercury lamps), as well as reducing the natural night sky light (airglow) that comes from the upper layers of the atmosphere.
The result? A darker sky background and better contrast for nebulae, star clusters and other faint deep-sky objects. You'll see more structure and detail, even with a telescope up to 150 mm aperture. The filter is a broadband ‘blocking filter’ - only the light useful for astronomical observation gets through, without distorting the object's natural colors.
You easily screw the filter onto the 1.25-inch thread of any standard eyepiece. Ideal for beginners as well as advanced observers who want to get more out of their observing location without moving to dark areas.
Advantages
✓ Darker sky background without color distortion
✓ Makes faint deep-sky objects more visible
✓ Reduces both artificial light and natural ‘airglow’
✓ Easy to use with any 1.25″ eyepiece
✓ Suitable for telescopes up to approximately 150 mm
