Compact powerhouse for beginners
The National Geographic N 114/500 Compact Is designed for those who want to start stargazing right away!
With his 114 mm mirror and 500 mm focal length this table-top Dobson delivers a bright, wide field of view.
The short focal ratio of f/4,4 makes it particularly suitable for observing large sky areas, perfect for the Moon, Orion Nebula or star clusters such as the Pleiades.
With its low weight and compact size, it easily fits on any table or stable surface. Ideal for children, families and novice stargazers who want to explore the night sky from the garden, camping or vacation spot.

Wide field of view, clear result
The 114 mm main mirror captures over 260× more light than the human eye, providing remarkable detail in the Moon and planets.
The parabolic mirror (rather than a spherical one) reduces image aberrations and delivers sharpness across the entire field of view.
With the included 4 mm and 20 mm eyepieces, in combination with the Barlow lens, you have four magnifications, ideal for switching between wide views and zoomed-in details.
What to expect to see:
- Moon: numerous craters, rills and shadows
- Jupiter: cloud bands and four Galilean moons
- Saturn: rings visible as elliptical structure
- Orion Nebula: nebular structures in dark sky
- Star clusters: Pleiades and M13 in Herkules
The color filter set increases contrast on planetary images - blue for details on Jupiter, red for Mars and yellow for Saturn.

Simple table setup
The compact Dobson base uses a simple, stable alt-azimuth setup.
You aim the telescope by moving the tube gently, without vibrations or hiccups.
The optical tube is equipped with a panning button, so you can aim comfortably and accurately.
Thanks to its low center of gravity, the telescope stays steady, even at higher magnifications. Place it on a garden table or sturdy box, ready to observe in less than a minute.
