When stars appear as spots and contrast is lacking on Jupiter, it is rarely due to the telescope itself but to the alignment. A properly collimated Newton will give you razor-sharp images, but the alignment must be right. The Hotech SCA Point Laser Collimator makes this process precise and frustration-free.
Unlike standard laser collimators that often sit crookedly in the focuser, giving erroneous results, Hotech uses a SCA (Self-Centering Adapter). This ensures that the laser is always perfectly centered in the focuser - with no screws, no play. This prevents tilt and greatly increases accuracy, especially with reflector telescopes such as the Heritage 130P or larger Dobsons.
The point laser projects an ultrafine, circular laser dot onto the main mirror. Thanks to the built-in 45° directional screen on the back, you can also perform this process solo: you simply look at the screen while adjusting the mirrors. When the dot returns to its starting point, you know your alignment is correct.
The housing is made of anodized aluminum, robust and lightweight. It runs on an included 3V lithium battery and comes in a protective storage case, convenient for transport and storage.
