Omegon Plössl Eyepiece 4 mm (1.25 inches) is designed for maximum magnifications and detail observation of the moon, planets and binary stars. With this eyepiece you will get the most out of your telescope under good seeing conditions. The classic four-lens Plössl design delivers sharp and high-contrast images, while the 50° field of view is relatively wide for a 4 mm eyepiece.
The multicoating provides high light transmission, making details more visible even at high magnifications. The rubber eyecup reduces stray light and makes for more comfortable viewing, even during longer observations. The 1.25-inch connection makes this eyepiece suitable for almost all common telescopes, and thanks to the integrated thread you can easily mount filters, such as a moon filter or color filter for planets.
Application
The Omegon Plössl Eyepiece 4 mm is designed for observers looking for extreme detail. Among other things, you will see with it under good conditions:
- Crater walls and rills on the moon in high resolution
- Fine planetary details, such as the Cassini line in Saturn's rings or the polar cap of Mars
- Narrow double stars that cannot be separated at lower magnification
Keep in mind that a 4 mm eyepiece gives a very high magnification, which is not usable with every telescope or air turbulence. For optimal results, a telescope with at least 1000 mm focal length is recommended. With faster telescopes (f/5), the image remains surprisingly sharp all the way to the edge, something not seen with many inexpensive eyepieces in this range.
