The Omegon Off-Axis Guider with Microfocus allows you to make long exposures without using a separate tracking scope. Instead, a small portion of the light from your telescope is sent through a prism to a tracking camera or reticle eyepiece. Thus, you instantly correct small tracking errors from your mount and stars remain perfectly round, even in minutes-long deep-sky exposures.

At only 24 mm in length and weighing 180 grams, this guider is very compact, making it ideal for refractors, Schmidt-Cassegrain, Maksutov and Ritchey-Chrétien telescopes. Thanks to the wide 45 mm aperture, the guider is also suitable for cameras with larger sensors. The prism can be placed in a 1.25” rotary focus, so you always get a suitable tracking star in focus.

An important advantage of this model is the integrated microfocus. The helical focus has a stroke of 10 mm and can be set extremely precisely to 0.05 mm. Thus, you will always find the right focus for your tracking camera and you can easily repeat this setting. This makes this guider particularly user-friendly, even when changing cameras or adjusting your setup.

Application

The Omegon Off-Axis Guider with Microfocus is ideal for astrophotographers who work with long exposure times and need a stable guiding solution. Compared to a separate tracking scope, an off-axis guider offers greater accuracy because both cameras use the exact same light path. This prevents shifts or deviations that can occur with a separate tracking scope. Suitable for deep-sky photography of, for example, galaxies, nebulae and globular clusters.
