Smart technology in a compact housing
The Celestron StarSense Explorer Dobson 150 mm is the largest tabletop Dobson in the StarSense series and ideal for those who want powerful observing without a complicated setup.
Your smartphone analyzes the sky in real time via the StarSense Explorer app and shows on-screen arrows that guide you step by step to planets, nebulae and star clusters.
No complicated star charts, no motorized alignment, just follow, point and watch. Within minutes, you'll be navigating the night sky with confidence, even as an absolute beginner.

Easy to use, fun for the whole family
This compact Dobson is surprisingly powerful yet intuitive.
After a quick alignment between the smartphone camera and the optical field of view, the app displays a list of visible objects.
You choose a target, follow the arrows, and once the green visor appears, the object is perfectly in focus.
While viewing, the app lets you listen to spoken explanations and background information about thousands of celestial objects, ideal for educational use with children.

Razor-sharp images with 150 mm mirror
With his 150 mm parabolic primary mirror and focal length of 750 mm (f/5) this table-top Dobson offers a wide field of view and high light output.
The aluminum coated mirrors with SiO₂ protective layer provide clear, high-contrast images.
You see:
- the Moon in razor-sharp detail, with numerous craters and shadows,
- the cloud bands of Jupiter and his four moons,
- the rings of Saturn,
- and even bright deep-sky objects such as the Orion Nebula whether it Andromeda System.

Stable, low-profile table base
The compact Dobson table mount offers stable, smooth movement in both height and direction thanks to Teflon bearings.
The integrated height brake lets you adjust the tension so the telescope moves smoothly even if the balance changes slightly due to heavier eyepieces.
A panning button to the tube makes accurate aiming easy without transferring heat from your hands to the tube. The mount is equipped with a eyepiece holder and handle, and can be placed on virtually any sturdy surface, from a garden table to the hood of a car.
Optionally, you can combine the telescope with the specially designed Celestron StarSense Tabletop TriPod for more height and comfort.

Pocket-sized observatory software
The StarSense Explorer app uses the same plate solving-technique as professional observatories.
By recognizing star patterns, the app determines exactly where your telescope is pointed and guides you to any object you want.
With the function “Tonight's Best” quickly select from the most popular objects of the moment. Depending on season and time, you can see Jupiter, Saturn, nebulae and galaxies, among others.
The app works with most modern smartphones: iPhone 6 or higher and Android 7.1.2 or newer (from 2016) with camera, gyro and acceleration sensor.
