Baader BDSF Digital Solar Filter 100 mm

The Baader BDSF Digital Solar Filter 100 mm is a specially designed sunscreen for digital photography and video recordings of the sun. This filter reduces light intensity to a safe level for camera sensors, allowing you to take razor-sharp, high-contrast images of sunspots, faculae and the fine grain structure of the solar surface with short exposure times.

The BDSF (Baader Digital Solar Filter) is derived from Baader's famous AstroSolar Safety Film, but with a modified transmission perfectly matched to digital sensors. This prevents overexposure and preserves maximum detail in high resolution, with no color cast. The result is neutrally colored sun images with a flat, optically clean surface that causes no additional distortion.

The aluminum filter holder is robustly built and equipped with soft clamping feet that adjust to the diameter of your telescope or telephoto lens. The 100 mm filter aperture is suitable for telescopes or lenses with a outer diameter between approx. 100 and 130 mm (depending on model variant). The holder clamps securely without pressure on the tube or lens, preserving optical performance.

Thanks to its light weight and stable construction, this solar filter is ideal for astrophotographers working with DSLRs, system cameras or planetary cameras. The flat film and neutral image make this filter particularly suitable for precision work, even at high magnifications or in combination with solar tracking systems.

Application
The Baader BDSF 100 mm is designed for digital solar photography. Not intended for visual observation. Always mount the filter in front of the objective lens and check that the surface is undamaged before each use.
