Violet color filter 2 inch - Omegon #47

This 2-inch violet-colored filter from Omegon is designed for observing specific details that are normally difficult to see. The filter works particularly well when observing Venus: cloud structures in the upper atmosphere become more visible when the bright light is filtered out.
This filter also helps in lunar observations by attenuating bright light, making subtle structures in craters more apparent. In addition, the filter can be used to make contrast differences in the atmospheres of Jupiter and Saturn slightly more visible.

The filter glass is fully colored and placed in a sturdy anodized aluminum mount with a thickness of only 5 mm. Thanks to this thin construction, it fits easily into a filter wheel or zenith mirror. The double filter thread makes it possible to combine multiple filters. The filter comes in a sturdy plastic protective box.
