The filter uses AstroSolar Safety solar film (OD 5.0), tension-free mounted in a sturdy frame. This keeps the coating undamaged and gives you a clear, high-contrast image of sunspots and granulation. The rounded edges of the frame protect the film from tearing, while the thermally matched plastic carpet pad prevents temperature differences from causing tension.

The attachment is robust and reliable. Thanks to the adjustable center pins with rubber profile, you easily adjust the filter to the tube diameter. For extra security, three safety straps are included that are secured around the tube with Velcro. Thus, the filter always remains stable in place, even during intensive use.
