Sky-Watcher Mount EQ8-R Pro SynScan GoTo is a full-fledged equatorial mount for the heaviest telescopes and serious astrophotographers. With a load capacity of up to 50 kg, this mount is designed for 12″ to 14″ tubes and for use in a fixed observatory or a heavy mobile setup.

The EQ8-R Pro is the further development of the classic EQ8. Thanks to the internal cabling, you avoid cable breaks, while the four USB and three 12V sockets provide direct connection of accessories and cameras. The belt drive in the declination axis operates more smoothly and reduces drive backlash, which is immediately visible in sharper astrophotos.

The improved couplings on the axes provide more stability, while the new dovetail clamping screws provide more comfortable and powerful clamping. This makes the mount suitable for long exposures in deep-sky astrophotography.

With the SynScan GoTo hand-held controller, you can access more than 42,000 objects and use one-, two- or three-star alignment to get started quickly. The EQ8-R Pro features Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PPEC)., which permanently corrects errors in the worm drive even after turning it off. For astrophotography, you can also directly link your camera via the Snap-port and control recordings from the hand controller.

Application
This mount is suitable for advanced astrophotographers who work with large telescopes and demand maximum stability. Ideal for fixed setups or a private observatory. For visual observation it is more than adequate, but the EQ8-R Pro really comes into its own for prolonged deep-sky photography with heavy optics.
