Optolong Filters Clip Filter for Canon EOS Full Frame UHC is designed specifically for Canon full-frame DSLR cameras. This clip-in filter is inserted directly into the camera body and blocks interfering artificial light, making deep-sky objects much more visible. Thanks to its UHC (Ultra High Contrast) design, the filter allows important emission lines from nebulae, such as H-alpha, H-beta and OIII, to pass virtually unobstructed.

The result is a darker sky background and more contrast when photographing nebulae, star clusters and galaxies. Even when shooting from light-polluted areas, details are retained and longer exposure times can be used without overexposing the image.

Because the filter attaches directly into the camera body, it can be used with virtually any Canon EF lens and with telescopes via a T-ring. This makes the Clip Filter particularly flexible for a variety of astrophotography setups. In addition, the design protects your camera's sensor from dust during use.

Application
This UHC clip filter is ideal for astrophotographers working with a Canon full-frame DSLR who want to enhance their deep-sky images despite light pollution. The filter is aimed at photography of nebulae, galaxies and galaxy fields. For visual use through a telescope, this filter is not suitable. With wide-angle lenses, be aware of possible vignetting.
