Looking for an interactive and surprisingly fun way to explore the night sky? The Celestron StarSense Explorer LT 80 AZ combines classic optics with modern technology. This smart refractor uses the StarSense Explorer app, which turns your smartphone into a virtual guide to the sky. Within minutes you can see the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn as if you were an experienced astronomer - without complicated alignment or technical knowledge.

Smart system with StarSense technology
Thanks to the innovative StarSense dock and the smart app knows exactly where your telescope is pointed. The app uses plate solving, a technique also used in professional observatories. Arrows appear on the screen of your smartphone, leading you step by step to the desired object. Once the arrows disappear and a green visor appears, the object is perfectly in focus.
The special mirror in the holder works with your smartphone's camera to recognize star patterns. Thanks to the X-Y adjustment knobs fits virtually any phone (even with case) in the holder. Within three easy steps, you're done:
- Place your smartphone in the cradle
- Launch the app
- Follow the arrows and observe
The app also tells you what you see - educational and fun for the whole family.

HBright optics with wide field of view
The 80 mm refractor delivers bright, high-contrast images of the moon and planets, and under dark skies also shows the best-known deep-sky objects. With the included eyepieces, you can get started right away:
- 25 mm eyepiece (36x magnification) - ideal for wide images
- 10 mm eyepiece (90x magnification) - for planetary details and moon craters
With the 2x Barlow lens double each magnification, bringing you even closer.
The LT 80AZ used coated glass optics for maximum clarity and sharpness. Perfect for beginners who want to see the Moon in detail or for families who want to explore the sky together.

Light, stable and easy to use
The azimuthal mount with flexible slow-motion operation Makes object tracking easy. Everything you need is in the box, no tools, power or extra accessories required. Within minutes, the telescope is ready to use.
Thanks to the light aluminum tripod and compact design you can take the telescope anywhere, from the backyard to a vacation in dark areas.

Observatory technology in the palm of your hand
The StarSense Explorer app brings professional technology to your smartphone. The app uses the camera to analyze star patterns, determining your position and showing exactly where to aim. With the feature “Tonight's Best” discover at a glance what objects are currently visible, from planets to star clusters.
The app works with most modern smartphones: iPhone 6 or higher, and Android 7.1.2 or newer (from 2016) with camera, gyro and acceleration sensor.
