Smart stargazing without experience
The Celestron StarSense Explorer LT 70AZ is designed for anyone who wants to take their first steps into the world of astronomy. This lightweight refractor works in conjunction with the StarSense Explorer app, which turns your smartphone into a personal guide through the universe. Within minutes you can see the Moon, Jupiter or Saturn, without complicated settings or frustrating search.

Intelligent technology with the StarSense Explorer app
The magic of this system is in the StarSense dock. Insert your smartphone, launch the app and let the smart software do the rest. Using your phone camera, the app recognizes the star patterns in the sky (plate solving), determines exactly where your telescope is pointed and shows arrows that lead you step by step to the next object.
Once the arrows disappear and a green visor appears, the object is perfectly in view. The app also provides additional information about what you see, fun and educational for young and old alike.
The system works with most modern smartphones: iPhone 6 or higher and Android 7.1.2 or newer (with camera, gyro and acceleration sensor).

Clear optics, easy to use
The 70 mm refractor delivers surprisingly sharp and high-contrast images of the moon and planets. This telescope is ideal for beginning observers and families who want to explore the sky in an accessible way.
Celestron supplies everything you need to get started right away:
- 25 mm eyepiece (28x magnification) perfect for wide images.
- 10 mm eyepiece (70x magnification) for close-ups of planets and lunar craters.
- 2x Barlow lens doubles each magnification.
So you can get started right away, without having to buy additional accessories with it!

Light, stable and quick to set up
With his light aluminum tripod and azimuthal mount the LT 70AZ is easy to set up, even for children. Within minutes, the telescope is ready to use without tools or complicated alignment.
The flexible slow-motion operation makes it easy to track objects accurately, while the Red-Dot finder helps with coarse aiming. Thanks to its compact size, you can take the telescope with you effortlessly - from the backyard to vacation.

Observatory technology in your pocket
The StarSense Explorer app puts professional-level technology at your fingertips. By scanning the sky with your smartphone, the app determines exactly where you are aimed and guides you directly to the most beautiful objects.
The built-in function “Tonight's Best” shows you which planets, stars and deep-sky objects are currently visible. Simply follow the arrows on your screen, and observe with your own eyes.
