Looking for an interactive and surprisingly fun way to explore the night sky? The Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 102 AZ combines classic optics with modern technology. This smart refractor uses the StarSense Explorer app, which turns your smartphone into a virtual guide to the sky. Within minutes you can see the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn as if you were an experienced astronomer - without complicated alignment or technical knowledge.

Smart system with app support
The secret is in the innovative StarSense dock. Insert your smartphone, launch the app and let the software do the work. The app determines exactly where your telescope is pointed by means of plate solving - a technique normally used only in professional observatories. Then clear arrows on your screen show you the way to the next object. Once the arrows disappear and a green visor appears, the object is perfectly in focus.
The special mirror in the holder works with your smartphone's camera to recognize star patterns. Thanks to the X-Y adjustment knobs fits virtually any smartphone (even with case) in the holder. Within three easy steps, you're ready:
- Dock your smartphone
- Launch the app
- Follow the arrows and observe!
The app also tells you what you see in your eyepiece, ideal for those who want to learn while you watch.

Bright optics in a high-quality design
The StarSense DX 102AZ is equipped with a double 102 mm refractor - A real dream for beginners who value clarity and contrast. With 1.6x more light output than the LT 80AZ this telescope shows sharp, colorful images of the Moon, planets and bright deep-sky objects.
Celestron supplies two eyepieces as standard:
- 25 mm (26x magnification) - ideal for wider images.
- 10 mm (66x magnification) - for close-ups of planets and lunar craters.
With the included 2x Barlow lens you instantly double any magnification.
Experience lunar craters like Tycho and Copernicus in detail, see the cloud bands on Jupiter and the rings of Saturn, and explore the Orion Nebula and distant star clusters under dark skies.

Easy to set up and use
As you would expect from Celestron, the setup is child's play. Everything you need is in the box, no tools or power connection required. The telescope is fully manual and ready to use within minutes.
The azimuthal tripod Is stable but light, equipped with slow-motion operation With which you move smoothly across the sky. The StarSense Explorer DX 102AZ is perfect for use at home, on vacation or during a stargazing evening on location.

Observatory software in the palm of your hand
The StarSense Explorer app brings observatory-level technology directly to your smartphone. By photographing the sky, the app recognizes star patterns and knows exactly where your telescope is pointed. So you can easily navigate to hundreds of objects in the night sky.
The function “Tonight's Best” shows you the most popular objects visible at that time. Depending on time and season, the list includes Jupiter, Saturn, the Andromeda Nebula and numerous star clusters. Simply follow the arrows on your screen and enjoy the view in your eyepiece.
The app works with most modern smartphones: iPhone 6 or higher, and Android 7.1.2 or newer (as of build 2016) with camera, gyro and acceleration sensor.
