Optolong LRGB Filter Set 1.25″

The Optolong LRGB Filter Set 1.25″ is designed specifically for astrophotography with monochrome CCD and CMOS cameras. With these four filters - luminance (L), red (R), green (G) and blue (B) - you create separate shots that together form one true-to-life color image.

Monochrome cameras naturally provide higher resolution than color cameras because all pixels contribute to the same channel. By using an LRGB set you utilize the full resolution as well as collecting all the light information from your deep-sky objects. The luminance filter (L) lets the full visible spectrum through but blocks UV and IR light, so you capture sharp details without chromatic aberrations. The three color filters (R, G and B) split up the basic colors, allowing you to reconstruct a full color image in post-processing.

The filters feature a durable, scratch-resistant coating and are neutral in color. This means that galaxies, emission nebulae and planetary nebulae are faithfully captured, without unwanted color casts. Combined with a filter wheel, you can easily switch between channels, significantly speeding up the workflow during long photo sessions.
