Omegon Plössl Eyepiece 6.3 mm (1.25 inches) offers an excellent balance between magnification and brightness. This eyepiece is ideal for observing planets, the moon and narrow binary stars, keeping details sharp and contrasty visible all the way to the edge of the image. With its classic four-lens Plössl design, you benefit from surprisingly good performance at an accessible price.
The eyepiece is multi-coated to reduce reflections and increase contrast. With a 50° field of view, you will see objects wide in focus and need to adjust your telescope less often. The folding rubber eyecup blocks stray light and makes extended observation more comfortable. The built-in thread allows you to easily attach 1.25-inch filters, such as a moon filter or color filter for planetary detail.
Application
This 6.3 mm eyepiece allows you to achieve high magnifications without immediately pushing the optical limit of your telescope. This makes it a valuable addition to a 10 mm eyepiece and offers more detail without the blur that can occur with 4 mm models. Suitable for, among others:
- The lunar craters and their fine rills
- Cloud bands on Jupiter and the Great Red Spot under good conditions
- The Cassini line and shadow details in Saturn's rings
- Double stars merging at lower magnifications
For best performance, combine this eyepiece with a properly collimated telescope and stable air unrest (seeing). The eyepiece is universally applicable and fits all telescopes with a 1.25-inch connection.
