Celestron RASA 203/400 Advanced VX is a pure astrograph: a telescope designed entirely for photography, not for visual observation. With a focal length of only 400 mm and an aperture ratio of f/2.0, it captures an extreme amount of light in a short time. This allows wide-angle shots of nebulae, star fields and galaxies without hours of exposure.

In practice, this means that you take images in 30 to 60 seconds where traditional systems take 10 minutes. So you need less tracking time and can capture many more objects in one night. In addition, the Advanced VX mount offers stable, computer-controlled tracking and is light enough for mobile use.
What you capture with it
- The Orion Nebula (M42) with clear structure and layers
- The Andromeda galaxy (M31) including surrounding star fields
- Open star clusters such as the Pleiades in their full width
- Vast emission nebulae in short sessions, without guiding
Important to know
- Suitable for photography only, not for visual use
- Works optimally with CMOS and mirrorless cameras (not DSLR)
- APS-C sensors are ideal; full-frame works in part
- Filters can be inserted directly into the telescope

This telescope is intended for advanced astrophotographers seeking speed, sharpness and reliability. Also suitable for those who travel and want to carry a compact but powerful setup.
