The Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope SC 235/2350 EdgeHD 925 CGEM II GoTo is a powerful observation and photography system for advanced astrophotographers and visual observers. The 9.25” (235 mm) EdgeHD optics delivers a perfectly flat and coma-free image, keeping stars sharp all the way to the edge of the field - even when using large camera sensors. In combination with the CGEM II mount this system offers a professional balance of portability, stability and precision.
The EdgeHD 925 optics is an evolution of the classic Schmidt-Cassegrain design, with built-in correction elements that eliminate both coma and field curvature. As a result, the image is sharp not only at the center, but also at the extreme edges - crucial in astrophotography. The StarBright XLT coating increases light transmission, making high-brightness nebulae, star clusters and galaxies visible. With a focal length of 2350 mm (f/10) This telescope offers plenty of magnification power, while an optional EdgeHD 0.7× reducer makes the system up to f/7 - ideal for deep-sky photography with shorter exposure times.
The CGEM II mount combines rugged construction with modern precision technology. With a carrying capacity of 18 kg it is sturdy enough for the 9.25″ EdgeHD with accessories. The Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PPEC). corrects gear deviations for more stable tracking, and thanks to All-Star Polar Alignment alignment is easy, even without a view of the pole star. The mount tracks objects smoothly beyond the meridian, allowing you to perform long shooting sessions without interruption. The steel legs (51 mm) and wide base provide excellent vibration damping.
The NexStar+ hand controller with 40,000 objects makes automatic tracking and navigation intuitive. For more control, the telescope can be linked to Celestron CPWI-software or via the optional SkyPortal WiFi module be controlled with laptop or tablet.
This telescope offers a rare balance of power, precision and ease of use. The image quality is photographically flat, the mechanical design is extremely stable, and the operation is optimized for long-term observations and astrophotographic projects.
What you can see with it:
- Fine cloud bands and lunar shadows on Jupiter
- The Cassini separation and subtle color differences on Saturn
- Ice caps and seasonal changes on Mars
- Structures in the Orion Nebula (M42) and Trifid Nebula (M20)
- Brightly defined globular clusters such as M13
- Distant galaxies such as Sombrero (M104), Andromeda (M31) and M81/M82
Application
The Celestron SC 235/2350 EdgeHD 925 CGEM II GoTo is designed for demanding observers and semi-professional photographers. It delivers observatory-level images in a system that is still mobile enough for field use. Thanks to the f/10 EdgeHD optics and optional reducer, this system offers both detail power and speed, suitable for deep-sky and planetary shots.
