Classic Dobson with impressive light output
The Sky-Watcher Dobson telescope N 200/1200 Skyliner Classic DOB is an icon among visual telescopes. With its 200 mm mirror aperture and focal length of 1200 mm (f/6) this classic Dobson delivers razor-sharp and high-contrast images of both planets and deep-sky objects. Thanks to the robust, intuitive Dobson mount, you'll enjoy pure simplicity: set up, aim and observe - without alignment or electronics.

Skywatcher Dobson telescope N 200 1200 Skyliner Classic DOB Telescoop.co.uk - Everything for stargazing & nature observation

Big mirror, big difference

With its 200 mm main mirror, the Skyliner captures as much as 77% more light than a 150 mm telescope, which is immediately visible in the richer details of nebulae, star clusters and galaxies. This is how you see:

  • The Orion Nebula (M42) with clear nebulous structures and bright Trapezium star cluster.
  • The Andromeda Galaxy (M31) with visible spiral structure under dark sky.
  • Globular clusters such as M13 in Hercules with individual stars visible.

The long focal length of 1200 mm also makes this telescope excellent for planetary observation: the Cassini line in Saturn's rings, the cloud bands and moons of Jupiter and the polar caps of Mars are clear and sharp in focus.

Robust and smooth operation

The Skyliner Classic features a stable azimuthal Dobson mount with which to track objects smoothly. The wooden rocker box stands firmly on the ground and offers smooth movement in both axes. No electronics or pole alignment - just move intuitively and enjoy the sky.

The large 2″ Crayford focuser with 1.25″ adapter allows the use of both standard and wide-angle eyepieces. The Included 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces immediately provide a good starting point for low and high magnifications, while the optical 9×50 viewfinder helps to locate objects quickly.

What we recommend

The Sky-Watcher Skyliner Classic 200/1200 is ideal for:

  • Beginners who want a serious telescope right away that will last them for years.
  • Advanced Who seek maximum light output for visual deep-sky observations.
  • Visual observation Of planets as well as nebulae and star clusters.

What you can see with it:

  • Moon: impressive depth and shadows in craters and lunar seas.
  • Jupiter: cloud bands, shadow transitions and four Galilean moons.
  • Saturn: rings with Cassini lines, bright and contrasting.
  • Mars: polar caps and color differences.
  • Deep-sky: Orion Nebula, Andromeda galaxy, Hercules cluster, Double cluster in Perseus and dozens more objects.

Keep in mind the size of the telescope, it is a large model that requires some space when stored or transported, perhaps it would be good to purchase a carrying case with it, but the performance is undoubtedly worth it.
