ZWO Methane Band Filter 1.25 inch is a narrowband interference filter specifically developed for infrared-sensitive astro cameras in planetary photography. By placing the passband exactly on the absorption line of methane (CH₄), you can capture high-contrast images of gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn. Visual use is not possible; this filter is designed for photographic applications.

Key benefits
✓ Spectacular contrast enhancement on gas giants through narrow half-width bandwidth of 200 Å
✓ Ideal for infrared cameras – blocks visible light and only passes methane band
✓ Interference technology for pure passband and minimal leakage
✓ Easy to mount in 1.25 inch filter holder or filter wheel
✓ Capture striking details in cloud bands and storms on Jupiter and Saturn

Practical application
Use this filter in combination with an IR-sensitive ZWO ASI camera and a motorized filter wheel for automatic filter changes. Thanks to the focus on methane absorption, you can capture deeper contrasts in the atmosphere of gas planets, which is not possible with standard visual filters.
