This updated version combines the proven design of the original Star Adventurer with smart Wi-Fi control through the free Sky-Watcher app. This allows you to easily configure the mount from your smartphone without compromising precision or stability.
With a payload capacity of up to 5 kg, the Star Adventurer provides a stable platform for tracking the night sky. Whether you’re working with a wide-angle lens, telephoto zoom, or lightweight telescope: the tracking motor ensures smooth, sidereal tracking of stars and nebulae. Additionally, the mount offers solar and lunar tracking modes, and adjustable timelapse programs (2h, 4h, 12h), allowing you to create spectacular timelapses of the slowly rotating firmament.
The Photo Set comes with a ball head adapter, illuminated polar scope, and a Vixen dovetail adapter, among other accessories. The entire setup easily mounts on any photo tripod with a 1/4 “or 3/8” thread. With the integrated polar scope and optional equatorial wedge, you can perform polar alignment quickly and accurately – crucial for longer exposures without star trails.
Power supply is flexible: four AA batteries provide over 72 hours of use, but you can also operate via mini-USB or 5V DC powerbank – ideal for field sessions.
This set is perfect for those wanting to seriously start with astrophotography without immediately investing in a heavy EQ mount. You can later add the Sky-Watcher wedge or counterweight set to expand the system into a full-featured compact equatorial mount.
