Vespera Hygrometer – Protection against Condensation
Fog and humidity are major enemies of astronomical observations. In cold or humid environments, condensation can form on the lens, negatively affecting both image quality and the sharpness of astrophotos.
The Vespera hygrometer is an advanced sensor that measures temperature and humidity levels and automatically activates Vespera’s anti-condensation system when needed. This accessory is essential for observers in humid regions or cold climates, such as coastal areas, lakes, or areas with winter temperatures.
Automatic Anti-Condensation System
When the sensor detects a specific temperature and humidity threshold, Vespera’s built-in heating system automatically activates. This prevents fog formation on the lens and ensures observations and photography can continue uninterrupted.
Improved Focus and Image Quality
Condensation can affect focusing, resulting in longer exposure times and an increased chance of rejected images by image processing algorithms. The hygrometer prevents this by:
- Faster initialization & image processing – Fewer rejected shots and quicker observation start
- Optimal sharpness – Clear stars without halos or blurring, crucial for astrophotography
Compact and Discreet Design
With a thickness of less than 13 mm, the Vespera hygrometer is one of the smallest sensors designed by Vaonis. The compact size ensures seamless integration into Vespera’s optical arm, without interfering with filters or accessories.
✔ Detects and prevents lens condensation
✔ Automatic activation of the anti-condensation system
✔ Maintains image sharpness and optimizes exposure times
✔ Ultra-thin design, fits discreetly into the telescope
✔ Compatible with other Vespera accessories
With the Vespera Hygrometer and the Light Pollution Filter, you can optimize your observations and photography under various conditions, from urban areas to humid or cold environments.
