Amici prism 45° 2” by 1.25” corrects your telescope's image so that it displays correctly both upright and left-right. That makes this prism ideal for daytime bird watching, following ships at sea or observing landscapes with your telescope.
The 45° viewing angle allows you to view comfortably without straining your neck. The wide 2” connection gives extra stability and allows use of heavy eyepieces, while the included 1.25” adapter gives you the freedom to use your standard 1.25” eyepieces as well.
For astronomical observations at low magnifications, such as the moon or star fields, this prism is also suitable. At high magnifications, an Amici prism can sometimes cause diffraction spikes on bright stars, making a regular star diagonal the better choice there.
Application
The Amici prism 45° 2” by 1.25” is used primarily for terrestrial observations such as nature, birds and shipping. For the moon it is useful to have a naturally oriented image. For planetary details and deep-sky observations at high magnifications, a standard diagonal is more appropriate.
