This 2-inch orange color filter from Omegon is designed to reveal subtle details that are difficult to notice without a filter. By filtering part of the light, contrast increases significantly, making structures on planets and the moon more visible. Think of dust storms and polar caps on Mars, more detail in Jupiter’s bands, or shadows and details in lunar craters.
The fully colored filter glass is housed in a robust, anodized aluminum mount only 5 mm thick. Thanks to this thin mount, the filter also fits in a zenith mirror or filter wheel. The double threading on both sides makes it easy to combine multiple filters for specific observations. The filter comes in a sturdy plastic storage case.
