The Omegon Camera veLOX 287 M Mono is designed for high speeds and maximum sharpness. Thanks to the Sony IMX287 mono sensor with extra-large pixels (6.9 µm), you capture plenty of light per frame, ideal for freezing atmospheric turbulence and revealing the smallest details. This makes it highly suitable for lucky imaging of the Moon, planets, and the Sun (with an appropriate solar filter).
Mono images have higher resolution and contrast than color cameras. For those who want to work with filters and a filter wheel later, this offers the most flexibility. Additionally, this camera functions perfectly as an autoguider: even with short exposures, you can use faint guide stars to accurately correct your mount.
The housing is compact, lightweight, and fits directly into a 1.25″ focuser. Data is transmitted extremely fast via USB 3.0, and guiding can be controlled directly through the ST4 connection.
What you can do with it:
- Capture planets and Moon at very high frame rates
- Photograph the Sun (with safe filter) including prominences
- Take monochrome images for enhanced sharpness and dynamics
- Perform autoguiding with short exposures and high precision
