The ZWO ASI664MC is an advanced planetary and lunar camera with improved resolution and sensor surface. This uncooled color camera features the latest Sony IMX664 1/1.8″ sensor and offers excellent performance for high-resolution images of the moon, planets, and sun with 2.9 µm pixels and a resolution of 2704 x 1536.
The ASI664MC is the direct successor to the popular ASI662MC, with major advantages including a larger sensor surface (7.84 x 4.45 mm), higher resolution (4.15 MP), and even lower read noise of just 0.46 e⁻. Thanks to modern back-illuminated CMOS technology and the completely amp glow-free sensor, deep-sky and EAA applications are also possible.
Key Features
- Sony IMX664 sensor (1/1.8″) – improved sensor size and resolution
- Resolution 2704 x 1536 (4.15 MP) – more detail in planetary and lunar imaging
- Amp glow-free – no interfering amplifier glow, even with long exposures
- Frame rate up to 95 fps (RAW8) – ideal for lucky imaging and real-time observation
- Read noise of just 0.46 e⁻ – exceptional performance at high gain
- USB 3.0 + 256 MB DDR3 buffer – stable and fast data transfer
- Compact, lightweight design (126 g) – easily deployable in any system
Applications
✓ High-resolution planetary and lunar photography ✓ Solar observation (only with suitable solar filter!) ✓ Compact deep-sky objects like planetary nebulae and globular clusters ✓ Infrared imaging for better seeing ✓ Electronically Assisted Astronomy (EAA) ✓ Autoguiding via ST4 interface
The ASI664MC delivers extremely sharp and detailed images combined with high speed. Ideal for amateur astronomers seeking maximum performance in a compact and affordable camera.
