When stars appear as blobs and Jupiter lacks contrast, it’s rarely due to the telescope itself but rather the alignment. A well-collimated Newtonian gives you razor-sharp images, but the adjustment must be correct. The Hotech SCA Laser Collimator makes this process precise and frustration-free.
Unlike standard laser collimators that often sit at an angle in the focuser and therefore give incorrect results, Hotech uses an SCA (Self-Centering Adapter). This ensures that the laser is always perfectly centered in the focuser – no screws, no play. This prevents tilting and greatly increases accuracy, especially with reflector telescopes like the Heritage 130P or larger Dobsonians.
The laser collimator projects an ultra-fine, round laser dot onto the primary mirror. Thanks to the built-in 45° target screen on the back, you can perform this process solo: simply watch the screen while adjusting the mirrors. When the dot returns to its starting point, you know your alignment is correct.
The housing is made of anodized aluminum, robust and lightweight. It runs on an included 3V lithium battery and comes with a protective storage case, convenient for transport and storage.
