The 38mm eyepiece is the widest eyepiece in the Omegon SWA series. With a focal length of 38mm and a 2-inch barrel, this eyepiece provides very low magnification and an impressive 70° field of view. This creates a panoramic effect, as if you’re looking at the night sky through a large window.
Large nebulae, the Milky Way, or extensive star fields fit completely in view with ease. This makes the 38mm eyepiece an ideal choice for calmly and relaxedly scanning the sky.
The optical design consists of five lenses in three groups. The full multi-coating, blackened lens edges, and internal baffling ensure maximum brightness and contrast. The robust rubber exterior feels solid, and the adjustable eye cup – the rim you look against – allows you to set the eye relief precisely, even with glasses.
Like all SWA eyepieces, this model is parfocal: when switching between eyepieces within this series, you hardly need to refocus.
